Popular Patisserie Café Expands to Claremont After Securing Long-Term Lease

March 2025

One of Perth’s most celebrated patisserie cafés, The Baking Corner, is set to expand into Claremont after securing a long-term lease at Shop 1, 50 Bay View Terrace, in a deal brokered by Sterling Property Partner Greg D’Arcy.

The Baking Corner has built a strong reputation for its handcrafted pastries, specialty cakes, and Parisian-style alfresco experience. Having first established itself in Victoria Park, the brand has since expanded to Subiaco’s Postal Walk and Inglewood, attracting a loyal customer base with its creative and high-quality offerings.

Now, with Claremont as its fourth location, The Baking Corner is set to bring its signature items to one of Perth’s most sought-after retail precincts. The new store is scheduled to open in early April.

Mr D’Arcy said the lease reflects the continued demand for high-quality hospitality operators in Claremont.

“The Baking Corner is a fantastic addition to the area’s vibrant café culture, and this tenancy is an ideal fit for their next stage of growth,” Mr D’Arcy said.

“Old Theatre Lane is a well-known boutique retail strip, benefitting from strong foot traffic and proximity to Claremont Quarter. The property’s high exposure and open-plan design will allow The Baking Corner to deliver its signature customer experience in a prime location.”

Min Yang, owner of The Baking Corner, said the expansion into Claremont was a natural next step for the business.

“We are thrilled to bring The Baking Corner to Claremont and introduce our signature pastries and cakes to new customers,” Ms Yang said.

“Claremont has a fantastic café culture, and we see this as a perfect opportunity to grow our brand in a thriving retail and dining precinct so close to Claremont Quarter.”

“We look forward to becoming a part of the local community and sharing our passion for handcrafted pastries with new and existing customers alike.”

The 60sqm tenancy features large front glass windows, an open-plan layout, and prominent signage opportunities, ensuring strong exposure to passing trade. The location is also easily accessible via public transport, with Claremont Train Station just a two-minute walk away.

The Baking Corner has secured a 10-year lease, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the precinct.
